Parklands Church has a long tradition of supporting families in need through providing meals, referred to as meal trains. We have a team of volunteers who regularly bless families through providing a meal, but we always welcome anyone who would like to join the team. If you would like to be involved, please see below for further information and follow the sign up process via ChurchSuite :

HOW DO I SIGN UP?

Open My ChurchSuite.
Go to your personal details section.
Click ‘edit’
Look for ‘Signup to Meal train?’
Select ‘YES’ to receive meal train emails, or ‘NO’ if you prefer not to (the default
is set to NO).

WHAT IS A MEAL TRAIN?

A meal train is a schedule where people take turns providing meals for a family in need on a particular day. We use a website called MealTrain.com to coordinate
the schedule.

WHO BENEFITS FROM MEAL TRAINS?

 At Parklands Church, we want to bless anyone facing a challenging time. We want to provide meals for families when there is a new baby for example, as well as during times of loss, hospitalisation, sickness, and house moves. However, this is not an exhaustive list! Where there is a need, our church community want to lighten the load and provide support during these times of need.

WHAT TYPE OF MEALS ARE NEEDED?

The meal does not necessarily need to be hot and ready to eat. It can be a meal that is simple to heat up or finish cooking. You may choose to prepare a homemade meal, or you may opt to treat the recipient to their favourite takeout. It is up to you!

You will liaise directly with the recipient to arrange a convenient drop-off time.

WHAT IF I DO NOT KNOW THE FAMILY?

It’s ok! Delivering a meal is a great way to connect with someone new in our church family! What better way to meet someone else than
by knocking on their door with a meal!

We will ensure you have the relevant contact information.

HOW DO I GET INVOLVED?

Sign up via My ChurchSuite. This will add you to the notification list, and you can
choose when to participate. There is no pressure to provide a meal for every
meal train that we offer.

CAN I NOMINATE A FAMILY WHO I THINK WOULD BENEFIT FROM A MEAL TRAIN?

Absolutely! Contact the church office at [email protected] and we will discuss setting up a meal train for your nominated family.
