At Parklands Church, our Youth Ministry is called Emanate. Within Emanate, we aspire to create a welcoming and vibrant space where young individuals can experience the love of Jesus, grow in faith, and shine as a light in their communities.

Our priorities include :

Sharing Christ’s love : We aim to show the love of Jesus in everything we do, in order to foster an atmosphere of acceptance and compassion for all who attend.

  • Bringing Youth To Jesus : We are committed to introducing young people who may not know Jesus, to His life-transforming message and to build a foundation of faith in their lives.

  • Spiritual Growth : We want to help youth who already know Jesus to deepen their relationship with Him, guiding them towards becoming more like Him in character and action.

  • Equipping : We want to equip our youth for the adventure of living for Jesus in our ever changing World.

In Paul’s letter to his protégée Timothy, he gives this encouragement “Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity” (1 Tim 4:12).

SUNDAYS

During our services on a Sunday morning at 9:15am & 11:15am, we dive into Scripture in a fun and appropriate way. Our sessions are aimed at School Years 7-9, but youth of all ages are welcome.

We enjoy our time of fellowship together, which often includes snacks!

FRIDAY NIGHTS

Friday Nights are where it’s at! We have a jam packed programme for our youth all the way from Years 7 to 13…

Emanate Club – 6 pm – 7:30 pm
(School Years 7-13)

We kick off our evening with some snacks and drinks! We then enjoy a range of activities which include table tennis, table football, pool and gaming as well as various indoor and outdoor games. For those who prefer a relaxed atmosphere, there is space to chat and chill.

We experience a short and relevant message which is centred around the Gospel, followed by practical applications for every day life.

We wind down our time at Emanate Club with a fun game.

Emanate Creative – 7:30 pm – 8 pm
(School Years 7-13)

We believe God is incredibly creative and we want to develop our knowledge and understanding of God as a Creator, as well as learn more about our own creative skills. Our creative sessions are a time to explore what this looks like for us. We look at various techniques that help us to worship and express our faith; including drama, poetry, music and art.

Emanate Friday Night Circle – 8 pm – 9:30 pm
(School Years 10+)

For those of our youth in Years 10 and above, we have a midweek Youth Circle which involves having a laugh, playing some games, eating snacks and learning more about what it means to be a disciple of Jesus.

Being a teenager is not easy, so we talk about our life struggles in a safe space by encouraging one another through prayer and Bible Study. These are important spiritual practices for all ages, but are especially essential for this poignant period of adolescence, which often shapes the direction of adulthood spirituality.

We want Emanate to grow and to see our youth flourish and be who God has called them to be. We are committed to participating in a variety of local and national events to ensure our young people have opportunities to engage in different experiences.

These opportunities include : going on planned trips that we may have organised, attending various youth events within our city, promote camps that our youth can attend to help them grow, attending Spree in July every year and promoting GAP years including outreach opportunities and mission trips.
